What Makes a Good HTD

HTDs (Head Tournament Directors) are an essential support tier in Misfits. While not full admins, HTDs are trusted leaders who help keep the league running smoothly. This is not a list of hard rules, but a guide to what makes a great HTD.

Dependable and timely
Helpful toward other hosts and members
Willing to step in when needed
Open to learning and growing
Maintains a positive and calming presence in the lobby

HTDs are below admin in responsibility and access, but they're still a vital part of the team.

Support Other Hosts

Jump tours when needed
Help answer basic questions
Encourage participation in all games

Cover Tours When Possible

If a host can’t make their tour, grab it when you're available
Communicate clearly if you can or can’t help

Help Mass Tours

Post tour links in Facebook Messenger and Trill chats
Help generate excitement and support for tours, especially slower ones

Show Up Early

Be in the lobby 15–20 minutes before your tour
Greet players and help set the tone

De-escalate Conflict in Lobbies

Stay calm and respectful
Try to settle disputes without taking sides
Tag an admin if it escalates beyond your role

Park in Lobbies When Available

Even when not hosting, your presence helps the league look active
Engage with members and keep the room positive

Be Coachable and Communicative

Ask for help if unsure
Be open to feedback from admins
Stay active in chats and respond when tagged
